La voix de Hind Rajab

Regia di Kaouther Ben Hania · Film premiato

Beyond being a beautiful film, it is a work that at this moment goes beyond any single off-the-cuff judgement. We left the screening as if leaving a collective funeral, and it was the same for everyone in the room. The film confronted us with our own powerlessness, and it did so with unsettling simplicity and through original, compelling means of expression.

Silent friend

Regia di ildikò Enyedi · Film premiato

The film reworks and updates everything we think we know about the relationship between humankind and nature. It is astonishing, for what it looks at and for the way it looks at it. A secular liturgy in which science and wisdom, heart and knowledge merge in the name of something higher: the hope for a new communication between beings, the search for a new meaning of humankind's presence on this earth.

Straight circle

Regia di Oscar Hudson · Premio Giuria Giovani

A story that manages to open a space for critical reflection on a system of violence and oppression that traps the individual in predetermined roles. Only through the experience of the other are we shown a path to liberation, despite the weight and the historical responsibility of each side. The film stands out for a staging that makes full use of the potential of cinematic language and opens up to many interpretations.

Its surreal and at times grotesque register illuminates themes such as mutation, transformation and rebirth, embodied by a one-of-a-kind protagonist.

Sugar Island

Regia di Johanne Gómez Terrero · Premio Giuria Giovani

A film halfway between fiction and documentary, a crossroads of social, political, gender and historical concerns, with universal power.

Garrone turns migration into a story of people and not of numbers, allowing us to come into direct contact with the language, the life and the culture of its protagonists, without ever romanticising them. The role of a captain is to leave no one behind.

Evil Does Not Exist

Regia di Ryusuke Hamaguchi · Premio Giuria Giovani

For the delicacy with which it addresses the relationship between humans and nature, and for the elegance in portraying the everyday life of a community whose story becomes universal.
